Noticed that the US were bidding against England and few others to host World Cup. Has UoP Stadium been put forward as one of the stadiums to get used?

I haven't seen the list but there are 44 that have been put forward I think and only 3 of them are below 60,000. UoP would be good I think, some big noise made with the roof closed!

Size and venue, most MLS stadiums will be ruled out as they aren't very large venues (around 25k capacity). You can pretty much already guarantee New York, Chicago, Los Angeles & Washington DC(not RFK but FedEx field where the Redskins play).

i think boston will be in there as well as foxboro/gillette seems to get a fair amount of soccer love

any thoughts on stadiums with artificial turf? Will some of those venues still be in existance in 2018 or 2022? What do you think of true domes hosting games?

UofP is getting 2 Gold Cup games this summer(next month)..a good turnout will help in the bid thats for sure. The only thing going against it is that the WC builds a lot of the experience outside the stadium as well and its played in the summer. That didn't stop Miami from having games in '94 though.

i'd love the US to host the World Cup again! If only we had a real team to play in it though!
