Weird year. Who would have thought Cal, BC, and USF would be top 5 at this point? The battle to play in the NC game will go to the wire. LSU will probably lose the SEC championship game, South Carolina will probably lose an SEC game, Cal will probably lose in the Pac-10, USF will probably lose a BE game. Wow this thing is up for grabs.

I cant believe the USA Today Coaches poll only dropped USC to #7 ridiculous. It was Stanford.

Actually it is easily explained. The coaches are clueless when it comes to this. The only games they get to see, are the ones they play in or film on future opponents. It is my understanding that the Sports Information Director typically casts the coaches vote.

Actually I know a couple of head coaches from major colleges and they both cast their votes themselves. Cant speak for anyone else. But you are right they dont get to see nearly the amount of football the average joe gets to see. If they win, they may watch football on saturday night, if they lose, the guys I know are too pissed to watch any football.

I honestly think it is an attempt by some coaches to just think "Eh, it is USC, they are the best team out west, just a bad night" but in reality, losing to Stanford, imo, is at least akin to losing to Appy St, if not worse.
