After taking two of three from Gonzaga over the weekend, USC baseball was back in action Tuesday night when the Trojans went on the road to face Long Beach State. It was a convincing victory for USC, as the Trojans dominated the Dirtbags 12-2.

USC controlled the game behind two big innings. After managing just one run over the first four innings, the Trojans put five on the board in the top of the fifth. Then, leading 7-2 entering the ninth, USC scored five runs in the final frame to put the game easily in hand.

Ethan Hedges led the way for the Trojans on offense, recording three hits, two RBIs, and a walk. Meanwhile, it was an impressive night for USC’s bullpen, closing out the night with five scoreless innings of relief.

USC is now 26-14 on the season. The Trojans resume Big Ten play this weekend when they travel to face Minnesota for a three game series. The two teams will face off at 4:00 p.m. Pacific time on Friday and Saturday before wrapping up the series on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
