After a largely disappointing 2024-2025 campaign, it seems safe to say that USC men’s basketball’s roster will look very different next year. Earlier this week, the roster turnover officially began with Isaiah Elohim becoming the first Trojan to enter the transfer portal.
A top-75 recruit in the class of 2024, Elohim was originally committed to Eric Musselman at Arkansas. Following Musselman’s departure for USC last April, however, Elohim flipped his commitment to the Trojans.
Elohim saw limited playing time in his lone season at USC. He averaged just 5.7 minutes and 2.1 minutes per contest. Elohim did not appear in a game after February 11.
Now, he will look for a fresh start to his college career in 2025-2026. USC, meanwhile, will presumably attack the transfer portal as Musselman looks to improve the roster heading into his second season in Los Angeles. Musselman getting a full season under his belt, and being able to evaluate why his 2025 roster fell short, should enable him to make better portal additions for next season.
