I'm officially on the South Florida bandwagon, baby. If my Nittany Lions can't have it, I want it to go to an underdog, a truly great story and a set of classic overachievers. LSU? No thanks. USC? Enough of them already. Let's shake this BCS bullcrap up a bit. Boise State got overlooked, but if a team runs the table in one of the big conferences, beating a ranked SEC team, a top 5 team, and a top 10 team (Rutgers), how can they NOT make it to a title game?

Go Bulls!!!

Sorry, but S. Florida is ranked 18th. NO WAY will they climb over 17 teams to make the BCS title game.

They go undefeated while beating a ranked SEC team, a top 5 team, a top 10 team, and a preseason top 10 team, and they're in what many are considering the 3rd or 4th best conference, how don't they go? They'd get the nod over any 1 loss team, that's for sure. Rarely do we have more than 2 undefeated teams, but if they are and they're frozen out, it'll lose the BCS that much more credibility (does it have any left?), and that's always a good thing.

They've got to be ranked 15th or better on Monday, depending on what happens to a few other highly ranked teams with tough matchups this week.

IMO, they should be ranked higher than WVU.

Sorry, LV, but national title dreams taste bitter when they end. I should know; mine ended last week :(

At which point they'll get smoked by USC, Florida, LSU, Oklahoma, or any actual elite team.

Not that it matters but in the meantime USF will lose to somebody because frankly they're not that good.

I think talking about championship is a bit premature, but it's great to see our football program get some national recognition. That was a huge win.

USF has a very good defense, but that offense is very limited. WVU does not have a good defense and USF , without the turnovers, may not have scored a TD in that game. I love the story and the team, but, BCS and NCS is not gonna happen.

Left on their schedule are;

@ Rutgers
Cincinatti @ home
Louisville @ home
@ Pittsburgh

If they win 3 of 4, they have a chance for the BCS tie in slot. At large I don't think happens. That goes to a team whose fans travel well and bring the $$$$$ with them.

P.S. They also have Syracuse and U Conn on their conference schedule.

And that's why they'll continue to get screwed, and that's why I'm going to root for them: because people like you will never, ever give a team like USF their due. They went to play Auburn, and people gave them no chance. Some people gave them a chance to compete against WVU, but figured they'd go down. Naysayers be damned, I think they have a shot. Will they get there? I doubt it. Will they run the table? They have a shot, but it will be tough. I hope they do it.

Wait a second...yeah, you're right. They'll get smoked by a top team, just like that team last year was exposed. Remember when Oklahoma beat that upstart Boise State...oh wait...

If by 'people like you' you mean those who don't delude themselves and prop a team up because it's a heartwarming story then thanks for the compliment. Sorry, USF isn't that good. They only mustered an 8 point win at home against a team without it's starting QB while being the beneficiary of six turnovers. And the Auburn win doesn't look so hot anymore after they got beaten by a bad Mississippi State team at home.

Come on now, WVU was ranked 5th. USF beat them last year on the road too, when they were ranked 7th. And White didn't play very well to begin with, in fact Brown probably did a better job in the second half. And give some credit to USF for forcing those turnovers. You make it seem like WVU just gave the game away. I guess they have a habit of doing that against USF.

By 'people like you' I mean people who will never, ever give an underdog team like USF credit until you absolutely, positively have to. Have you even ever given Boise State an props for the BCS win? Or are they still a team that 'isn't that good'?

They didn't beat a team without their starting QB...they KNOCKED the starting QB out of the game just before halftime. Their offense wasn't on fire, but they overcame that, and the offense had one hell of an impressive drive to open the 4th quarter to stretch the lead by an additional 7. The Auburn win doesn't look as impressive now, but how would they be doing if they had won against USF? We'll never know, nor does it matter--USF beat a ranked SEC team. They just beat the number 5 team in the nation, and you keep saying they aren't any good. God, you sound really clueless about college football right now.

Uh huh...Auburn isn't an impressive win and USF isn't that good...except USF is now number 6 in the nation, and Auburn just toppled Florida. Hmm...

Honestly wins against ranked opponents not named USC or LSU are open to question until the end of the season. I see Wisconsin sitting there in the Top 10 and they barely got out of Vegas with their hides.

I'm more impressed with teams that beat Top 10 opponents in November than in September, but I'm willing to revisit South Florida at the end of the year to see how much of an accomplishment the month was.

In that case, Cal's win is meaningless, because we don't know what Oregon is

I think you have to go with what you have, and what we have is a bunch of undefeateds with more impressive or less impressive wins. Purdue, Hawaii, Cincinnati, and ASU, none of them have anything more than cupcake wins, and so they aren't top 10. The others have at least some good wins against a good team or so, so they are. It's not the greatest system, no, but what else can we do at this point? Besides, the BCS rankings will probably change it up regardless.
