That was a Helluva game.
Now the final score was 30 -27, wasn't it? That means neither team was blown out. Isn't that the same score as the Colorado/Oklahoma game? Yes, I believe it was, and that didn't make OKlahoma an over rated bad team, did it?
It was a conference game, on the road for USF. That happens in conference games. One team wins, one loses. That doesn't make that conference over rated. LSU got beaten in conference, in OT and I don't hear any squawking about them being over rated or sudddenly lousy. USC lost to Stanford by a 3 point margin, in conference, and they aren't lousy or over rated.
Rutgers pulled every gimmick out of their bag and it seemed as if everyone worked. Schiano coached like there was no tomorrow. I have no complaints about the TD called back because of the review for " illegal forward propelling" the ball on the fumble. That doesn't get called in review and USF probably wins.
I have come to realize, that it is hard for a bunch of football fans to accept the Big East as a damned good conference, but they have 4 teams comp[eting at a top 20 level and if one of them loses to the other, I don't see how that exposes them as fraudulent.
Right now USF joins Cal, USC. Oregon, Wisconsin, LSU, Kentucky, West Virgina, South Carolina et al as one loss teams who aren't frauds. This is parity and balance.
IMHO.
