The University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team will return to the WNIT for a second consecutive season after another strong finish in Ohio Valley Conference play.
The Screaming Eagles were one of 48 teams announced into the field Sunday night. The bracket and Round 1 games times, scheduled for March 20-22, will be announced Monday.
USI went 22-12 this winter and were the fifth seed in the OVC tournament in Evansville. After wins over Tennessee State and Little Rock, it was knocked out by top-seeded Tennessee Tech.

The Screaming Eagles are in what is expected to be the final year of their transition to full Division I status. Because of that, the team has been ineligible for both the NCAA Tournament, and the WBIT, which is run by the NCAA.
USI is joined by one other OVC team in the field. Lindenwood, which is also in the midst of its full move to Division I, finished second in the OVC during the regular season.
A year ago, USI won its opening game of this event against Illinois-Chicago before falling to Wisconsin.
