EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – UTEP softball secured its first Conference USA series win following its victory against Western Kentucky in game three, 4-1.
UTEP would trail 1-0 throughout the first four frames, its defense led by Audrey Gallegos at the mound, would hold the Hilltoppers there.
Bottom of the 4th, Miners would get up on the board and take the lead following a Paige Lassiter homer collecting two RBI’s on the shot to put UTEP up, 2-1. The Miners would be able to extend its lead with another two-run homerun courtesy of Halle Hogan to extend its lead, 4-1.
Gallegos pitched all seven innings allowing just four hits paired with three strikeouts.
UTEP collected its first two wins of CUSA on the weekend resulting in its first series win in conference of the 2025 season.
