I'm going to include a poll because I've never actually seen a good movie by him. I suppose the closest movie of his I've seen to watchable is "Alone in the Dark" (barely watchable), but then he took a step back into the mire with "Bloodrayne".

I won't condone downloading movies from the internet (only becuase a person never knows who monitors them these days) but I'd be all shades of angry if I'd have had to pay for a movie of his recently. Lord knows, I paid cash for "House of the Dead" and I was too stunned to even ask for my money back on the way out.

Who's the joker that keeps giving this guy video-game movies to adapt? These things give video game lovers a bad name by association.

One last joke then I'm done: He's like Paul Anderson's mentally challenged dark dimension counterpart. (or little bro, take your pick).

Thoughts on this guy and his product?

Uwe Boll deserves to be the namesake for the Oscar that goes to the absolute worst movie of the year...

the only problem with that is that he'll monopolize the award for himself...

"And the Uwe Boll Oscar for the Worst Movie of the Year goes to...UWE BOLL!"

What also pisses me off about this guy is that he is on a single-man campaign to destroy the validity of a video game-to-film transition! And he lures in fanboys for those video games by overpaying actors with a good, to fair, reputation of decent films to "act" in his films.

It just goes to prove that talent is no longer necessary to make money and gain fame in this world anymore...

Until a good movie taken from a video game is actually made, then maybe the genre will get some validity. As it stands right now, the pickings are slim in that area.

i beg to differ, you obviously haven't seen super mario bros., street fighter, or mortal kombat and mortal kombat annihilation. three of the best movies based on video games of all time.

The first offerings in both the Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat franchises were decent enough films.

They weren't cinematic history, but they were entertaining.

I just knew someone would bring up the schlock that was Resident Evil. And the words "Mortal Kombat" and "decent" should never be used in the same sentence.

I thought Final Fantasy: The Spirit Within was much better than people gave it credit for.

I think Final Fantasy was the best video game movie ever made, but I still think they could have done so much more with it.
