Well.

I guess I'm happy there's only a few more home games I have to spend my money going to, because this is going to be painful.

I don't think we're "out of it," when it comes to making the playoffs, but a legitimate run to the Super Bowl as we were all hoping? Highly, highly unlikely. Blah.

May I remind us all that we opened our season against a very good team who was without its star QB for the first four games.

How'd that work out for them.

My point - We've gotta play the games on our schedule. Might as well try to win them..& you never know.

* Actually, I kind of like Wetzel at LT and want to see what Toner can do at OG.

** The way Seattle is playing, wouldn't it be a hoot if the Rams snuck in as NFC West champs?

This isn't the worst season for Arizona sports teams in quite some time.

And weirdly, Cleveland of all cities is having major success...

This will provide an interesting scenario that many spoke about when DJ was drafted:

- Maybe we should put DJ at LT (his natural position) and Veldheer at RT.

I dont care who plays LT/RT, so long as its an upgrade, but I always felt DJ LT/Veldheer RT made more sense.

DJ is a fast, smooth athlete whos been playing LT all his life. He was obviously good enough at LT in college to be drafted in the 1st round.

Veldheer seems better equipped for the power run RT spot anyways.

So maybe long term (next year) itll be a permanent switch. We're forced to find out now.

This season sucks.

+1.

Tried to stay positive for a while, but this season has indeed sucked. Really bad too. The games have been hard to get into, and last week the game was over in 5 minutes. Season is over before Thanksgiving, and the only two games the Cardinals played, meaning they were watchable, was a 6-6 tie, and the season opener when they lost to a Brady-less Patriots team.

and now,

Veldheer to IR ............. aka, final nail in the coffin for the 2016 season.

UGH! The offense was hard to watch up till this point, now it will be unbearable. Might as well sign John Skelton to play QB.

Wetzel
Iupati
Shipley
Watford
Humphries

Wow, that is a bad, bad offensive line. Good thing we have the hardest part of the schedule coming up. The Cardinals better sign a 3rd string QB that can run because they are going to need him.

Damn right. At least when expectations were low, every win, not matter what was HUGE, and a sign of improvement. This season, its practically a wait until free agency. Thus this stinks.

Wha?? Why so down Rugby?

We will see how Wetzel plays out - Watford is not doing so well, but we have the bye, maybe he had a bad game or maybe we go with Toner in two weeks. Other than that - we have seen worse lineups in the past (slated starters, not the end result after injuries):

2015, 13-3 record
LT Jared Veldheer
LG Mike Iupati
C Lyle Sendlein
RG Ted Larsen
RT Bobby Massie

2014, 11-5 record
LT Jared Veldheer
LG Ted Larsen
C Lyle Sendlein
RG Paul Fanaika
RT Bobby Massie

2013, 10-6 record
LT Bradley Sowell
LG Daryn Colledge
C Lyle Sendlein
RG Paul Fanaika
RT Eric Winston

If Thomas is really going to be available from Cleveland SK better be working on a trade agreement with them. Of course we know better and it will not happen. Snow in Phoenix in July has a better chance of happening.

I like the optimism (seriously, not many people still have any left on this board), but you're omitting the fact that in 2013 we had, perhaps, the best D we've ever seen in AZ with Dansby and DWaste manning the middle. Nobody could run or pass on us.

Plug the 2013 OL on this team and I'd guarantee we'd have no more than 3-4 wins by end of season.

Oh my god... please, never show our offensive line lineup again this season. Looking at that on the page just sent shivers down my spine.

Does not matter. When healthy, and he can get healthy if not playing this season, HB will still be a force... we are actually better without 'at 75% Honey Badger' at the moment and frankly he has been a liability all season so far

I wouldn't say he's been a liability. He was wrongfully put at FS---which is not his strength even when he's 100%. He admits the brace makes him one step slower---but he was still playing hard and making plays.

My bad, saying a liability was harsh but he has not really been making plays that effect the game, but rather has been a 'Johnny come lately' after a play has been made other than his typical self of not only preventing a reception or run but actually turning the play in our advantage in my opinion

I would like to see us play the above players also. Like to see what we have in the young guys.

But what about CP's health? With the learning curve for that line he would take more shots than he already is now. Of course they could surprise and do really well and be a cornerstone of the team for years to come. Wait, what am I saying?

I say play him 100%. We can still win this division.

I was believing we still had a legitimate shot with the division all somewhat mediocre this year. These injuries though....

At least the bye week is coming and Toner and Wetzel can get some reps. We're deep enough at safety to withstand the loss of HB for a while, he wasn't right anyway. Veldheer's loss is big. He's been the one rock on the line since he got here.

We also lost Momah, to go along with Fells and Nicklas. Only Gresham left at TE. GGrrrrrrrrrrr.
