Sometimes, statistics just don’t matter. That appears to be the case with the 2010 Arizona Cardinals.
Statistically speaking, the Cardinals are amongst the worst teams in the league. Actually, they’re dead last. When examining the four major team categories – passing and rushing yards and opposing passing and rushing yards – Arizona ranks 26th or worse in each category, a claim no other team can come close to making.
It turns out that most NFL teams are at least good at something. Yes, even the Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers, all whom are winless on the season. But the same can’t be said for the Cardinals.
So how has Arizona’s passing game -- averaging a mere 153 yards per game -- not been its downfall? What about the miniscule 87 yards per game on the ground? On the flip side, allowing over 241 yards per contest through the air and more than 140 yards rushing certainly doesn’t bode well, right?
