The Ohio State football team visited the White House April 14 to celebrate the Buckeyes' 34-23 national championship win over Notre Dame when a notable fumble occurred.

OSU won four straight games, including the Jan. 20 title contest, in the first expanded 12-team College Football Playoff, and they brought the resulting trophy to the South Lawn – a trophy that Vice President JD Vance dropped as he went to lift it.

Vance then held up the top half of the trophy while the team posed for photos.

Vance, President Donald Trump, Secretary of Defense Marco Rubio, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lieutenant Governor Jim Tressel were all present in Washington D.C., with Trump, Vance and OSU coach Ryan Day all speaking from the podium.
