Beyond the sun.
As far as I am concerned, Mel Brooks' "Put zee candle... BECK!" was the Frankenstein mic drop. Anything after is useless.

Are we talking the DeNiro Frankenstein bomb or Frankenstein 2000 bomb?

Not sure what the "Frankenstein 2000" you are referring to -- I think you are confusing Dracula with Frankenstein.

But the DeNiro movie wasn't a bomb. It didn't make a lot of money and you could probably say it didn't make a lot of money domestically, but it made almost 3 times its budget when all was said as done. And I actually have a soft spot in my heart for it, loved the score and it was well directed, after all, by Kenneth Branagh.

I think he confused the titles too. There was actually an Italian film, released in 1991, called Frankenstein 2000, but I highly doubt he was referencing that obscure film. In its place we could put I, Frankenstein (2014) as it is the only other recent take on the monster, IIRC.

Maybe DeNiro's Mary Shelley's Frankenstein wasn't a bomb but it was a bad movie. I wanted to see that so bad just couldn't believe with that cast how badly they mucked up the movie. I am a fan of Kenneth Branagh but he looked completely lost in making this. The movie almost felt at times like it was intended to be an over the top parody of Frankenstein.....but it wasn't.

This one though? I couldn't even get myself excited to see it. The trailer made this film look uber boring.

I saw it with my dad the other day.

It tried really, really, really hard to be a Guy Ritchie film. Like, really hard. lol It even had like cut scenes to diagram animations and a ton of slo mo sequences.

It wasn't good but I mean, it's getting like 10% on RT and I didn't think it was THAT bad. Sometimes I dont understand why the critics choose to pile on certain movies but give other, (equally bad or worse) films a free pass.

Mildly entertaining at times, completely forgettable although Jessica Brown Findlay is insanely hot.
