The Minnesota Vikings have placed linebacker Casey Matthews on injured reserve, ending his first season with the team before it started. Matthews, the younger brother of Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews, hurt his hip doing hurdles during offseason workouts and never made it on the field for practices with the team. Coach Mike Zimmer announced the news on Sunday.
