The Vikings need to draft another cornerback or safety in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft in April. The team has brought back key pieces such as Byron Murphy Jr., Theo Jackson, and Harrison Smith. However, they did lose their key playmaker, Camryn Bynum, to the Colts.

They need to find someone else who can step up and force turnovers and find the ball the way he did, just don't expect them to do that in round one.

Alec Lewis of The Athletic wrote this week about the Vikings and their draft plans for 2025. He addressed the Vikings needs in the secondary but pointed out something Vikings fans may forget.

Lewis reminds us that Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has been honest about his shortcomings at evaluating safety position players, writing, "In reflecting on the 2022 draft, Adofo-Mensah has admitted that safety is among the most difficult positions to evaluate. Missing on another at the top of a draft would leave little wiggle room."

The Vikings have been mocked two notable playmaking safeties in recent weeks, Malaki Starks and Nick Emmanwori. Either one projects to be sure things, even though there are no such things. They would have the benefit of being coached by Brian Flores, of course, which may help matters.

It will be interesting to see how the team approaches the position in the coming weeks.
