Virtual Tour Of New Stadium Available On Team, TSA Web Sites
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wednesday, March 19, 2003 4:14pm

Tempe, Arizona — A computer-generated animation of the
new Cardinals’ stadium depicting the inside of the new
facility is now available for public viewing on the
team web site – www.azcardinals.com -- and on the
Tourism and Sports Authority’s (TSA) web site –
www.az-tsa.com.

The 45-second “fly-through” animation takes the viewer
from ground level outside the stadium and gains
altitude, allowing the viewer to see the roof retract
and the natural grass field roll into the stadium. The
animation flies the viewer into the stadium through the
open roof and down to field level.

The animation follows last week’s unveiling of the
stadium’s redesigned exterior.

“This animation gives a sweeping pilot’s-eye view of
the inside of the new stadium,” offers Cardinals’ Vice
President and General Counsel Michael Bidwill.
“Coupled with last week’s unveiling of the redesigned
exterior, fans now can begin to appreciate the
world-class venue that is coming to Arizona.”

Adds TSA President/CEO Ted Ferris, “We are planning to
use a number of multi-media vehicles to allow citizens
to see the design of this memorable venue come alive
from the start and through construction.”

Groundbreaking for the new stadium, located at the Loop
101 and Bethany Home Road in Glendale, is scheduled for
Saturday, April 12.

To open the animation, visitors need RealPlayer which
is available free at www.real.com.

I just hope that they put cupholders in the broadcast booth. I spilled so many Diet Cokes this past season.

Hopefully this year the Cards won't make you throw your D.C. anymore in disgust!

63,000 permanent seats..plus 10,000 temporary seats (for super bowl, fiesta bowl, sellouts, etc).. can hold up to 73,000.

Az Cards;

will the new stadium be smaller than SDS? Well yes & no. Yes it will hold a smaller regular game seating capacity of roughly 64,000 & change. It will be close to what SDS holds when it comes to big events like Super Bowls or World Cup soccer to expansion of I believe 73,000 plus. Although I'm not really clear of what SDS holds, I believe the expansion figure is close to SDS.

I wonder if most of those temporary seats are in the end zone where the field slides in? Also, looks like they need to install the goalposts each time the field comes in.

I think I saw my seat!
