Episcopal senior Dylan Hauser is the new Florida Times-Union Athlete of the Week for Northeast Florida high school sports for the 2024-25 season, covering the week of March 17-24 in the Jacksonville area.

The midfielder scored four goals and two assists to lead Eagles boys lacrosse past Bolles 15-7, their first victory in the rivalry series for seven years.

Hauser has recorded 37 goals, 25 assists and 23 ground balls so far in 2025 for Episcopal, which is 12-3 and ranked No. 10 in the state by the Florida High School Athletic Association.

He placed first in a vote of top Northeast Florida performers that included Amia Bethea (Union County girls track), Kevian Feliciano (Bishop Snyder boys track), Cullen Garner (St. Joseph baseball), Charlotte Maddox (Oakleaf softball), Rafa Neel (Bolles girls tennis) and Shawn Selfors (Bishop Kenny boys tennis).

It's time to vote for Florida Times-Union's next Athlete of the Week for the week of March 24-29, 2025.

The Times-Union gathers nominees from scores, stats and nominations e-mailed to the sports desk during the week by coaches across Northeast Florida. Coaches can e-mail these stats and scores to [email protected]. Deadline to receive nominations is 7 p.m. Saturdays.

This week's voting begins Monday morning and closes at 10 a.m. Thursday. Votes are restricted to once per device per hour. Vote at jacksonville.com/sports.

We reserve the right to disqualify a candidate or declare a vote "no contest" if tampering such as bots or offering to pay for voting is evident. Please respect the integrity of the vote the way these athletes respect the integrity of the game.

Northeast Florida Athlete of the Week poll for March 24-29

Devin Collins, Oakleaf boys track​


The senior set personal bests with victories in the 100-meter dash (10.63) and the 400 (48.28), helping the Knights top the team standings at the Clay County Championships.

Evie Freeman, Bolles girls track​


The junior set personal bests in winning the 100-meter dash (11.57), 200 (24.06) and long jump (19 feet, 1 1/4 inches) at Saturday's Bear Classic True Team Championships.

Ar'nayshia Griffin, Bradford flag football​


The junior completed 33 of 54 passes for 515 yards and eight touchdowns, 80 rushing yards and four interceptions on defense in wins over Baker County and Keystone Heights.

Avabelle Hubbard, Fletcher girls lacrosse​


The junior attacker scored seven goals and three assists in the Senators' wins over Stanton and Mandarin.

Kylie Kochis, Nease girls tennis​


The senior led the Panthers at No. 1 singles and doubles in sweeps of traditional rivals St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra.

Amelia Oreair, Episcopal softball​


The junior batted .727 with four home runs, a triple and 12 runs batted in during victories over Trinity Christian, Jackson and Ponte Vedra.

Daniel Sheqi, Global Leadership Academy boys volleyball​


The senior setter recorded 61 assists in victories over St. Augustine and Harvest Community.

Sebastian Stodel, Beachside boys weightlifting​


The junior led the Barracudas to District 5-2A championships in the 154-pound division with total lifts of 530 pounds (traditional) and 470 pounds (Olympic).

Tristan Straw, Tocoi Creek boys tennis​


The sophomore led the Toros at No. 1 singles and doubles in sweeps of St. Augustine and Menendez.

Ethan Wheeler, Trinity Christian baseball​


The junior batted .538 for the week with five RBI and struck out 13 batters in a four-hitter as the Conquerors beat Florida Christian, Baldwin, Tocoi Creek and Newberry.
