After an exciting start to the high school softball season, it's time to look back on the best performances.

Read about the players who stood out last week and let us know who you think should be the North Jersey Player of the Week in the poll at the bottom of this page.

Voting closes at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Audrey Amoruso, Indian Hills

Amoruso went 3-0 in the circle, with 19 strikeouts in 21 innings pitched. At the plate, she was 8-13, including a walk-off homer in a season-opening win over Wayne Valley.

Jamie Farrington, Old Tappan

The senior pitcher guided the Golden Knights to a perfect week, striking out seven in a win over Ramapo, throwing a shutout against Old Tappan and twirling a perfect game against rival Demarest.

Dilynn Jeffries-El, Paramus Catholic

The sophomore has made a big mark on the Paladins already, going 6-10 with three triples and five RBI. She also held Wallington to two hits and struck out 14 in a 5-2 victory.

Mackenzie Riordan, Hasbrouck Heights

Riordan has the Aviators off to a 4-0 start and has scored 10 runs and driven in five more.

Maya Showfety, Fair Lawn

The freshman made two spectacular plays in center field in wins over Paramus and West Milford. She also batted .667 with six runs scored, six RBI’s and four extra base hits.

Alexandra Siller, Pascack Valley

No team had a better first week than the Panthers, with three dominating victories. Siller pitched 16 innings and allowed only seven hits while striking out 21. She also went 6-11 at the plate.

Jenah Yang, Fort Lee

The junior scored five runs in two games and also stole three bases for the 2-0 Bridgewomen. She also threw a complete game six hitter in a win over Elmwood Park Saturday.

Hailey Zirpoli, Waldwick

Zirpoli has been the cornerstone for the Warriors for four years and she started her season with a five-inning shutout win over Ridgefield, and followed up with a six-strikeout performance over Hawthorne and an eight-inning battle against Emerson.
