This does NOT sound exactly like the vote of confidence from a week or ten days ago:

"We'd like to get a better feel for players like (infielder/outfielder) Andy Green and (outfielder) Luis Terrero and others who have had some major league experience but not extensively in the Bob Melvin era," Moorad said. "At this point, I think Bob and his staff will try everything they can to put the best effort forward night in and night out, but at the same time allow us a better read of what the future might look like."

In fact, it made me grin cheerfully for a change.

Although I find it doubtful, so what if guys like Terrero and Green show they are part of the future over the next month? I'm guessing they get benched next year because we have overpaid and unproductive veterans at nearly every position.

Thankfully the Diamondbacks did not sign Steve Finley last winter. He needs to retire. Steve is batting 215 and was one of the goats tonight in the Angels lost to Boston. Runner on third and one out, top of the 9th and Finley hits a grounder to second and the runner on third is out trying to score. Next guy up strikes out. Hey, Steve would fit perfectly in the Diamondbacks line-up. :biglaugh:
