What Cabarkapa really needs is 3-way calling, so he can talk to Vujanic and Vlade Divac at the same time. ;)

Seriously, though, it seems like all of the Yugo players are tight with each other. And, the way their national team has been playing, I wouldn't mind at all if Phoenix turned into Belgrade West.

Divac might be interested in signing for a one year deal (he has talked of retiring). This would mean the Suns would be positioned to go heavy into the FA market in 2005. Even Kobe is not going to give the Suns a championship next year.

I told you guys this guy kicks some serious butt. Kid can flat out play- shoot, pass, dribble, penetrate, play D- he can do it all.

His team lost and the game went to double OT.

I would rather see some more assists and less turnovers.

I'm much more impressed with average statistics than one big game. Presumably he doesn't shoot 8/13 from three-point range every time he steps on the floor.

He didn't start according to the boxscore.

Slin, whats the deal with the European assist stats. They seem quite low across the board compared to the NBA.

Is it that offenses are different or do they have a different standard for awarding an assist?

Maybe I should be asking Sirstefan this question.

Both. Euro basketball looks somewhat like Sacramento- everybody passes the ball.

I never understood how assists are awarded in Europe. Even when I lived and played there I couldn't figure it out.

Anyway, I'm willing to take 4 TO's with 30+ points any day of the week and twice on Sunday.:)

He is averaging only 16ppg 1rpg 2apg 2topg. Slightly more turnovers than assists.

Europe basketball isn't nearly as exciting as Sacramento basketball you can't compare that.

Just to add one more thing- there is no official definition or rule for an "assist." It's very subjective over there.

Every basketball team passes the ball.

European teams aren't as fast paced as Sacramento. Even for 10 minute quarter games the scoring is generally low.

Sacramento is all about their high post guys passing and that is really not what european basketball stands for.

Chad Ford basically was talking about Europeans and assists not too long ago. He basically said that Euros don't credit assists like Americans do. Usually you can double the assist output for any PG in Europe.

What kind of numbers did Tony Parker put up when he was in Europe?

Lets hope we can get Vujanic over here next year... Barbosa doesn't look like a PG in the making to me. It appears D' is going to give a chance at it, which is fine for this year, but we definitely need a backup plan. I guess I shouldn't write off Eisley so quickly - he's looked better and quickker than I expected to tell the truth. Well, he'll likely be around this whole year so he'll get a chance to show what he can do in our offense.

Eaisley just got into a Suns uniform. When he learns some plays, and where certain players like to catch/shoot, he will be very effective. He also has a nice stroke to boot.
I like the addition of Eaisley, and I hope that the Suns keep him around next year as a backup.

I'm glad you like Eaisly, because I'm afraid he will be around for a while whether we like him or not.

As far as I can remember nothing special.

Some of my friends have seen him play in Hungary in EC under 20 and they told me he was super-quick and very smart but who would have thought that he will be the starting PG for one of the best NBA teams?
Nobody.

Vujanic is a much much better player in Europe than Parker was.
In NBA?
We will see it.

Parker was rated the best prospect in his class. Misan Nikagbatse was rated #2 in that year among prospects.

That was my impression, although I have to admit that coverage of Euro players over here has always been very spotty.
