DBacks were terrible in the first two months and have hit a nice stride since. Most people probably only remember them as struggling. Hill and Kubel are both deserving.

did Kubel get any consideration for an all star spot? Amazing how good of a year you have to have to get there or how popular you have to be. I would be like what else do i have to do if i was kubel. taking nothing away from Miley Its great what hes done but besides the start of the year Kubel has been probably are most consistent hitter. If i played i wouldnt even worry about an all star spot id just be like cool if it happened it happens.

Y'see, guys. This is one example of why I am so uncomfortable with Kirk Gibson's haphazard batting orders. It took a long time for him to put Kubel in the cleanup spot and leave him there.

If the tinkering had been resolved in Spring Training as nature intended -- if he had shown confidence in our Big Bopper -- the rest of the league would have, too. Gibson's micro-managing cost Kubel all-star consideration.

All I know is if I'm ever in Vegas and there are ever long odds for Melky Cabrera vs. Justin Verlander, I'm all in.

I've said it before but I'll say it again ... I love Melky Cabrera. He's all about good baseball. And I never tire of saying 'Melky'
