Walker provides Milan boost ahead of Inter derby in Coppa Italia semi-final

Kyle Walker is one of two Milan players who returned to training on Monday ahead of the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final, which is currently scheduled to take place on Wednesday evening.

Milan receive double boost in Easter Monday training​


Walker has been out of action for the last two Serie A matches with a fractured elbow: A freak accident at the club’s training ground earlier in April.

The England international has made an impressively quick recovery, as he underwent surgery on April 8, and rejoined first-team training with the rest of the Rossoneri squad on Monday, less than a fortnight after he went under the knife.

According to reports from Sky Sport Italia (via TMW), Walker took part in the full training session as usual, which means that he is in contention to feature in the Derby della Madonnina against Inter in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final.

Another Englishman in the form of Ruben Loftus-Cheek was also back in training under Sergio Conceicao on Easter Monday.

The former Chelsea midfielder was taken to hospital with appendicitis at the end of March, and has missed the last four Serie A matches as a result.

Through illness and previous injuries, Loftus-Cheek has only featured for 12 minutes of Milan’s last 19 Serie A matches.
