Warner shows that he still has (for better or for worse) zip that Leinart simply does not at this point. Now get Fitz and company out and pray for Gandy

Now Leinart proves he is one of the best backups in the league and still the future. Now get Levi and company out.

As wolfley would say, "Not so fast my friend". Leinart looked just a sharp!!! Great 4 throws in a row and a TD strike to Pope. we definately have a good situation at QB.

If Warner had the pocket collapse on him like it did twice on Matt, at least once would he have laid it on the ground....at least Leinart made something out of nothing

Bzzzz, hit the reset button! Given a vet that can go deep but is turnover prone and a young QB that is showing signs of marked improvement, I'll go with the kid who should be the QBOF, thanks. Still, whatever Whis does is good with me.

Seriously?

You would seriously start Warner over Leinart?

Matt outplayed Warner tonight by a very wide margin.

Kurt was 4 of 4. Matt turned it over is your TV broke. Just pull for the team. LOL

Gandy is fine..He went back into the game after he was injured.

Leinart proved he can come back from a bad game and I think he retained the starting QB job this game.

Also...This game proved that we should be happy that Morelli isn't our 3rd qb.

No. He went down holding his knee on a play earlier. I think he was just scared that it was a major injury

He later came back and played

Whew Thx Ash for the update. Im at work and wasnt able to view the game yet.

Don't know who will start but everyone should be happy with the way Matt played tonight.

He really was sharp and looked confident.

aside from that. It is my opinion that QB is a problem for the cards. while they have been shaping nicely in other areas of late, QB has been holding them back IMO. Warner has a lot of ability, but it is my opinion that his best days are in the past. he also isn't mobile and has problems with heavy pressure. he seems to have been a rollercoaster ride since he's been here....with his play and his health. then you have leinart who is clearly the future. he has proven that he is great in college. I thought he had an excellent game against pittsburgh last year. but he is still developing and warner may give this team more of a chance to win now. that's the catch 22 for Whiz. you know what you have with warner, but you don't know what you have with leinart right now. what's best for the team/fans? that's a tough one. aside from QB....the cards look stronger than ever. I want to see how much the offensive line has improved. they must protect the QB much better....and if they do this can definitely be a playoff team.

THIS ONE IS FOR YOU KOC. TIM WE DID IT.
I think it is funny that Timm says to start Warner because of his great game tonight and other posters response is "It was 4 passes against Den backups" or "Warner didnt have the pocket collapse" But...

Now Lienart is the next coming of Christ because he played well against THE SAME DENVER BACKUPS!!. Seriously I understand rooting for the guy but give me a GD break. If you ONLY argument for Matt to start is that he did well against the Denver backups then you really don't have an argument. Warner has shown he can still WIN at this level against the starters and Matt has not . Period.

voice of reason. I was thinking the same thing last night. It's preseason. that's why I'm not ready to write matt leinart off either. (for his last game) the fact that whiz threw his starters out there, to include both QBs, is proof that he's serious when he says he hasn't picked a starter. for what other reasons is he still playing them when you consider that most other nfl teams benched their starters in the last week.

Not that the snapshots we're seeing in this game means much, but if Matt had been pulled after the first drive he would have been 4/4 for something like 90 yards and a TD.

As for that TO, it was tough to tell on the TV (and I had a few beers in me) but why was his outlet so far behind him?

Seems to me ML went through his progressions really well all night long and DID, in fact, have some good zip on the ball. There was one play towards the end of the half where he through a bullet to Long on the sideline. Kinda surprised me.

I don't know where this leaves the QB situation. I think ML made it a tougher choice for the Cardinals tonight.

Matt had 0 turnovers lasts night.....
I think he's talking about when Matt tried to throw it to JJ on a checkdown and it ended up being a backwards pass. So basically it's considered a fumble. But etheir way I think Leinart looked good even if its against backups.

I still think people are making too much of the Oakland game. He's played well in 3 of the 4 preseason games. It's not like he's been stinkin it up the entire time.

Put it this way: preseason, no preseason, backups, no backups, Leinart proved that the arm strength argument is utterly ********. Make your call, Whis, and I'll support it, but Leinart showed major stones coming back with that kind of confidence, hanging in the pocket and making dynamite throws. For my money, stick with Leinart but, like I said, your call, Whis.
