ESPN is reporting today that Warner repeated the offer, he'll take 1 million less if the money goes to Boldin.

Anything to bring this organization down, IMO.

We are definately not in favor of the national media for some reason. It has been apparent during the run to the Superbowl, at the Superbowl, and events following such SB.

what if the front office says to warner, "we aren't going to extend boldin beyond our operating procedures. if you want to write him a personal check, like for boldin ministries or something, that's on you."

The media is trapping the Cards here. If they sign Q and take "warner's money" they will call them classless and cheap. If they trade Q they will call them classless and cheap.

Its a catch 22. The only option that the almighty media will accept is to sign Q and leave Warner's contract alone even if Warner insists on it...

I don't think players should comment in the media about other player's salaries. Each individual lives in a can in terms of his contract and it's only the business of the player, the agent and the team.

The cynic in me thinks Clayton is trying to get Q traded to Philly so his Seahawks have a better shot in the NFC West. Failing that he is bound and determined to stir the pot as you say. He might as well be on the Seahawks payroll.

I'm sure Wilson and Dansby are thrilled about this. I wish Warner would just stay out of the media for a while. It seems like every time he says something, it ends up reflecting poorly on the Cardinals. This was probably his plan during contract negotiations (swaying public perception toward his side) but now it's not helping anyone. Plus, it's ridiculous to think his $2 million would influence a 4 yr/$40 million contract. If Boldin and the FO were that close to agreeing, I think the deal would have been done a long time ago.

Warner's walking a fine line here. From his comments about being underpaid for years to this, he's attracting a lot of negative attention to the team. I can't imagine the FO is very happy about this kind of exposure, especially after they gave him the highest annual payout in team history.

Nope! The media brought it up first. ESPN asked him several weeks ago if he'd give up $2-million if it helped re-sign Boldin. He said yes. Fitz said pretty much the same thing without the specifics.

I could be wrong, but I think Warner is saying to the FO to make Q happy too. It may not have been Warner's place, but I thought it showed how sincere he is about playing good football and getting back to the Superbowl; by keeping the team together.

I listened to sports talk all day and none of the comments from the variety of announcers had anything to do with the Cardinals being cheap or classless. It seems to me that it's hard for some here to not think the absolute worst about a situation.

I'm not sure the Players Union would allow a player to compensate another player as part of his contract. But you have to admit, it's sure puts pressure on the Cards to do something about Boldin's contract. I can't fault Kurt for wanting all his soldiers in place when we go into next season.

There is a matter of pride here both on the side of Boldin and the Cardinals. Boldin I feel might not accept a contract based on Kurt giving up 1 mil or 2 mil for two years. He and Kurt are apparently close. The Cards should be a little embarrassed to give Boldin a contract and cutting Kurts. The old Cards would do that in a minute. Not so sure about the new Cards. Anyway, I think Boldin will be gone for other reasons than just a million dollars.

We need to be a playoff contender on a regular basis to get any respect.

Exactly right. It will take at least 3 years of being in the playoffs to change a perception that has built up over the past 60 years.

If the player (Warner) is trying to send a message to the front office then I say go for it. He put his money where is mouth is.

That is a bit strong. Apparently you do not like Warner. "********" I think not. How about "All Pro" "Super Bowl Rings" and likely "Hall of Fame". Sounds more appropriate to me.

He should do the same thing with Dansby.... and Wilson.... and Dockett. That would be 8M less total from what he is making.
