The Golden State Warriors fired assistant general manager Pete D'Alessandro on Friday and replaced him with assistant coach Larry Riley in another sign of big trouble for Chris Mullin, the club's top basketball executive. In Mullin's first five years of running the team, D'Alessandro had been his trusted lieutenant in the basketball operations department.

Robert Rowell is a real SOB, he is a non basketball guy who's ego is getting in the way of the francise's future. He is a real schmuck that is putting his hands where they do not belong.

He has cut Mullin out of all major decisions and is directly negotiating Stephen Jackson contract extenstion of whom he called, "the best player the Warriors has ever had."

He is doing to the Dubs what was done to the 9ers after Debartolo was gone.

Rumor has it Rowell was the one that scuttled B-Davis's return to the warriors, for Mullin and Davis had agreed in principal on a very reasonable contract with a reasonble amount of years and Rowell killed it.

This sucks, because the Warriors have made so much progress and Rowell is threatening to make this franchise a joke again.

Russ, your thoughts?
