During that first series of the 2nd half when we had 4 penalties in 4 offensive plays and then went on to have like two more within the next 3 plays?

I was so embarrased for this team at that point(being on national TV and all) that I really just couldnt stand it.

GOD THAT WAS AWFUL!

God, that was terrible. I was happy that we shook it off. Previous Cards teams would have turned that start of the second half into a 14 point deficit...we actually took the lead!!

Then pooped it away. In surprising fashion, we pooped it right out of our mouths as only the cards can. :barf:

It was sad that it was Boldin that had to calm everyone down in the huddle, because Leinart wasn't saying a damn thing. This worries me. Nobody was concerned with Leinart not becoming an offensive captain, but it looks like he is far from being poised or a leader, and I have huge concerns about that.

Nah, not concerned we were gonna get screwed over in this game for sure at some point, just didn't expect all the calls at once. I suppose SF did not have any guys move all night, some cheap calls if you ask me. If the refs could just give SF points it would make it easier for them!

You really should quit complaining about the calls. It was a pretty evenly called game all around. When you have 3 false starts in about 2 minutes, that is not the refs fault.

Yeah, I thought so too. This is one game where we got as many breaks as we did calls against us.

I can't go to work today. I can't face another day of, "No, it was just one game. They'll turn it around next week." Maybe I can close the door and turn off the phone.

I'm going to cry now.

I didn't mind Boldin stepping up but it is and should be a concern that Matt did not appear to step up as he should have. Regardless of who is named captain, the QB is and should be the LEADER of the offense. Last night was not a good start at all for Matt for this season.

It was ok but I would say call it both ways. Matt was getting hit late...wheres the calls? How about the PI all freaking night on our receivers and not one single penalty? Come on their guys could have had illegal contact or PI calls all night long. Go back and watch the game watch Fitz and Boldin getting body checked and hand checked all over the field! Like I said NO CALLS can be just as bad as bad calls!

You do realize that there was an illegal contact call against SF when they hit Fitz about 12 yards down the field right? It probably happened more times that they didn't call, but you can't say not one single penalty, because there was one.

Yep and Gandy got away with a blatant false start at one point that I couldn't believe they missed.

The worst call against us all night IMHO was the face mask on dansby. The runner actually had HIS hand on Karlos' facemask first, Karlos pulled him down his hand was on the helmet, but it didn't look like he ever grabbed the facemask. And that was only 5 yards and didn't kill us, we killed ourselves.

The coverage was good all night but it sure seemed like when someone was open it was often because of Holt?

Sorry 1 all night, against maybe the best receiver combo in the NFL. Point made it was happening all night! It was pretty clear who almost everyone wanted to win that game, and like I said I expected to get screwed somehow!

Clearly when you watched the game you didn't listen to the fact that referee and his crew called the fewest penalties as a crew last year so it is clear the game he and his guys call is one where they try and let the boys just play football. believe me, if the SF Dbs were hand checking all over the place, so were the Cards DB's

Get beyond the reffing because that did not cause this team to lose...not even close.

We damn well would have scored more points if we were throwing the ball! And we would have thrown the ball if our receivers were open!
And our receivers would be open if...
Know what I mean?

The Dansby facemask was maybe ticky-tack but I think the thing that brought the flag out was the fact the SF players helmet seemed to be not on his head properly after the "facemask" so out comes the flag.

Gandy also got away with 2 holds, and Levi with 1 that I can remember off hand.

Faulty logic but I am not going to try and convince you otherwise. You are convinced the refs blew this game and only hurt the Cards.

One more time the refs did not cost us the game, never said that. Just said call it both ways. We screwed ourselves when we clammed up and quit being aggressive. When you play not to lose what usually happens to the Cards?

the four penalties in four plays was the hardest thing that the Cards have ever done for me to watch..

The Prevent Defense that the Cards went into w/ 1:37 to go - I didn't see ANY LB's on the tv screen for 3 plays in a row - that made me flip out and annoy my friends and probably my upstairs neighbor.

Leinhart looked like a rookie starting his first game for much of the night. He had a nice throw to Bolden but for the most part he failed to see guys who were very open including Fitz who was well behind the secondary for a good chance at a TD in the second half. Looked to me like he was not seeing the entire field.
