Based on my understanding of the legal system, a great many individuals who plead "not guilty" are, in fact, guilty. At least of something.

A great many who plead not guilty are, in fact, not guilty of anything at all.

Only one that I know of, and he's only been seen in burritos and dirty windows for the last 1900 or so years. :mulli:

Nobody goes in and pleads guilty, especially in the beginning of the process. That's all this is, it's a mandatory part of the process, and it's only wise to plead not guilty, regardless of what happened, it's in the defendant's best interests. I'm not up on all the domestic violence stuff, but I'd assume it goes the same way unless there is some video tape or some hardcore Rihanna style pictures floating around the media. Probably just end up with counseling and probation if he is already out on his own recog, hopefully not much from the League. I don't know what happened, so this will be my last post on the domestic D-Wash threads. I just aint got anything productive to say about the matter.

I have it on good authority that when his lawyer entered the plea, he did it with air quotes and a wink.

They say there are no victimless crimes.

................that being said I feel rather victimized, and I will seek substantial compensation. Whether legally, legal-ish, or otherwise.

what it is plead down to is very relevant due to the commissioners hammer.

Yep. Typically, Aggravated Assault is pled down to Simple Assault, which would likely result in an additional suspension. Hopefully, the DA offers something sweeter. I still think it's likely that the case is dismissed becasue of victim issues (recanting, minimizing, or flat out refusing to cooperate).
