originally appeared on nbcsportsboston.com Chris Sale's start to the 2019 season went from bad to worse when Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter Lourdes Gurriel Jr. stole home in the fourth inning of Tuesday's Boston Red Sox home opener at Fenway Park. The Red Sox ace wasn't able to get the ball home quick (or accurately) enough and Gurriel's steal put the Jays up 5-2. Check out the crazy play in the video below: Red Sox fans in attendance, as you might imagine, weren't happy with their team falling asleep and voiced their displeasure with a few boos.
