Tony Allen, he of the Memphis Grizzlies grit-and-grind era, had his jersey retired Saturday after the game against the Miami Heat at FedExForum.
Known as the Grindfather, Allen is the third of the Core Four to have his jersey retired. Marc Gasol had his ceremony in April and Zach Randolph in December 2021. Mike Conley, who is still active and playing with the Minnesota Timberwolves, will have his jersey retired when his career ends.
