WATCH: Vernon Broughton gets the call that the Saints are drafting him

Now this is cool. The New Orleans Saints brought in a lot of coaching talent from the college level this offseason, and one of those coaches got to tell one of his former players that they'll be seeing each other soon. Saints defensive line coach Bo Davis made the phone call to welcome Texas Longhorns defensive tackle Vernon Broughton to New Orleans. The team selected him with the No. 71 overall draft pick.

"Hey Vernon," Davis grinned, with Broughton's family cheering in the background. "Don't let me down, bro, we're gonna take you, here in New Orleans, brother. You're in my Easter basket."

It's an awesome moment between two people who clearly have a great relationship. When Broughton was asked about Davis during his introductory conference call, he beamed while telling reporters, "That's my dawg, I love that man."

Broughton was buried on the Longhorns' depth chart behind other future pros like Byron Murphy II, T'Vondre Campbell, and Alfred Collins, but he learned a lot with Davis at practice every day. Now they'll be working together again, and the Saints have to be hoping Broughton can help clean up the league's second-worst rush defense.
