I have to admit this is making me nervous, especially since we are 2-4 in the Shaq era. I believe we have 23 games left. I really hope we can hang on and make the play offs. We are 2.5 games from the top spot, but also 2.5 games from the eighth seed. We are in purgatory right now. Anyone else nervous about us making the play offs?

Portland is tough man. I've seen my Lakers play two very tough games against them in the past week or so.

A little. I think that any team that makes the playoffs has a legit shot at coming out of the West. As long as we make the playoffs, we will be ok.

I'm not all out, in panic mode, but I never seem to get that way. I understand that the Shaq move needed to be made. If it works out great, if not, I doubt we would have won the title anyway.

I definitely agree. There are no cake walks in the West through the entire playoffs. If the Suns gel and make the playoffs, I think Suns fan will see a much more effective team in the playoffs.

^exactly why the Shaq move was made, but people are trying to judge it 6 games in instead of letting the team work out the kinks in a mini training camp in season.

I'm getting nervous too. Trying not to panic but this is the first time in years that I am afraid to watch a game because I never know what to expect from them anymore. Guess I just got used to them playing so well and winning so much. Hopefully they will get it together in time and still make the playoffs. It sure will be weird watching the playoffs and not seeing the Suns in them.

I hesitate to call this a must-win game. But yeah, this is a must-win game. :|

2 and 5 is a lot worse than 3-4. I might agree with you on this one.

It definitely is. I said last week that the 3 game stretch of PHI-POR-DEN would be crucial. Can't afford to go 0-3.

I'm with Abomb on this one, I don't envy the Suns. Portland's record is deceptive, they are one team I'm hoping doesn't make the playoffs because I flat out don't want to play them.

I'm without doubt rooting for Phoenix in this one. Portland scares me.

this looks like a must win game as the suns will probably drop the game tomorrow night to denver. The suns are terrible in back to backs now with their advanced age and no PG backup.

The Blazers match up with the Lakers very well--always gonna be that one team you want to avoid at all costs...the Blazers are that for me.

Call me crazy, but I think the Suns will work them tonight.

The Hornets are that team for the Suns this year. I want no part of them in the playoffs.

I'm not a big basketball fan but I like the fact you have reservation about the Blazers. And since I have never been a basketball fan it is easy for me to pickup the Blazers as my team.

I'm not hear to argue because I don't know jack... Just thought it was kinda cool cuz I know the Blazers have been sucky for a few years.

Yes i'm actually somewhat worried now especially the teams we play in the next 5 games utah and the spurs ouch... granted their at home but we haven't played well at home recently Nash and the other suns need to wake up and realize were in deep trouble of actually not making the playoffs this year. Also if we don't make the playoffs should Kerr think about maybe finding a new job?

I agree that we may not have won the title anyway. However, with getting Grant Hill, even though he's been great, and Shaq, along with having Nash, we have gotten a lot older. That's what is making me nervous. I agree our team is built for the play offs, but our window is now down to a couple years. If we miss the play offs in either of these upcoming seasons, we will lose a great opportunity.

With our team always trading away our draft picks, I am wondering how we will rebuild, especially being up against the luxury tax. It just seems like all or nothing, and we have no room for error. Usually, I watch the Suns, and when we don't win the title, it's like we will have a good team the next year, so no worries. Now, there's almost like a two chance limit.

That depends to me, on how Kerr handles the draft. If we don't get good young talent to eventually replace Hill, Shaq, and Nash, or at least one of these guys, then yeah, he needs to go, imho. So, I would even be willing to give him a pass on the play offs because that's the coaches and players that determine if we get there and what we do when we are there. Kerr needs to get us the talent to keep the franchise going. So far I see a lot of plugging holes by Kerr, and not a lot of long range vision. Any of us can make trades and try things, it's another to evaluate talent and get the guys who fit the system.

The only way to rebuild this team would be to blow it up and trade for expirers and draft picks much like we did when we scrapped the Marbury/Amare/Marion team. We don't have our own picks to rebuild on. We don't have any cap space. We don't have any big expirers for another two years. There really isn't anything we can do while keeping the core together.

It's sad that I don't even try to find your constant errors but you continue to fail at the English language.

I think the Suns realize that they have been underperforming and need to step up, especially after that Philly loss.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I don't see Portland making up 6 games on Golden State.
