By this I mean players which are three down guys who establish the position and foundation of a scheme where the 'X' factor players can make a difference. Right now this defense is a lot of icing and no cake, Swiss Army Knives when we need a meat cleaver. This whole drafting versatile players crap has gotten out of control. Then to compile the problem, you have a DC in Bettcher, who seems qualified to coach high school at best, drawing up incomplete schemes where all these little versatile players get pushed around. There is no room on this defense for both Budda, Badger, Reddick and Bucannon to all be out there on every down. Badger and Bucannon, especially under Bettcher at least, offer nothing now. Keep Baker and Reddick and drop the other two... and then fill the positions around them with guys who meet the physical requirement and size to allow those two to prosper
