We as a fan base are way to fast to say that we are awesome when we get a good win and we are way to fast to say we suck when we have a crappy loss. This team is still learning how to be a top notch team. I looked back at that game and I can honestly say that the things that caused us problems were self inflicted. Those things are fixable. Our next 2 games are just what the doctor order to get to 10 wins, of course we can't keep peeing in our own cheerios.

Go Cards!

Regardless of losses like this, this is VERY MUCH a very good team. No two ways about it.

You are probably right Scott----the psyche of this team is still very fragile, and that seems to come from the way the leaders react to mistakes. Most of our leaders have been here from when we had the losing syndrome, and they seem to either be too hard on someone who makes a mistake, or they go into the (OH NO---NOT AGAIN), mode immediately. Then everybody seems to panic and try to overextend themselves to make a big play, but they only succeed in making more mistakes because they can't relax and play their own game.

We're not as good as our best game but we're not as bad as our worst game. :)

The fans are just as Bipolar as the Cards.

I've learned to just enjoy the rollercoaster ride that is the Arizona Cardinals.

You know, Scott, you make a great point...but I will confess to you that I still almost never feel confident the Cardinals will win...the true impact of decades of being disappointed.

It's kind of like this: one year I was without a teaching job because my school had to face abnormal attrition and had to lay off 1/3 of the faculty...and that year, whenever I went grocery shopping I refused to buy anything that cost over $2.

You know, more than 15 years later, I still try to buy everything under $2, when I can now afford to splurge.

It's like...when you've hit rock bottom, you can't afford yourself the freedom to think you can just go beyond already set limits.

This is why I won't make any predictions about the Cardinals. I cannot allow myself that luxury.

I like Bill Parcell's mantra: "We are what we are."

Right now we are an 8-5 football team. Period.

Great post Mitch. I know you are not alone in that "oh no" feeling.

There is a very good reason for that. The Cards have only been a good team for slightly over one and a half years. During that period, and even before, every time they got to a point that would put them into the elite class of NFL teams they set off a stink bomb. Horrible performances that rivaled the worst games of the crummy Cardinals era. From the Eagles game at Thanksgiving in '08 to the last 2 minutes of the SuperBowl to last night.

Show me another NFL team with a long history of failure that has turned it around but continues to absolutely suck as soon as they get into position to be recognized as one of the best teams in the league.

If the Eagles or Giants had pulled the kind of crap the Cards have the last two seasons their fans would have burned downed their training facility.

Our guys are very, very, fortunate that they have us as fans.

The Giants have come very close to our performance this year and I doubt they make the playoffs. We will see what changes the Giants make.

The Giants? They've lost 6 of their last 8 games. We haven't been that bad since week 10 of the 2006 season.
