Read the book. Great story. Had no idea they planned to make it into a movie.

I don't like when they say "based on a true story." I think "inspired by ..." would be a better description. By watching the previews, the movie looks very different from the book (and I don't just mean the country in which it takes place).

That said, I will still likely see it.

It didn't really hold my kids' attention, but I thought it was really good.

Wanna take my 7 but I fear she'll be bored.
It's really not a kids' movie, but there's nothing too objectionable about it. Some heavy themes, though (widower dad struggles with raising kids solo, teenage angst/love, etc...)

It was good, tho...

I took my kids and they liked it. It was so predictable, that it's instantly forgettable. That said, the characters were all likable.

I thought it was light and well-made. Maybe a bit schmalzy, but still entertaining.
