Great size for a CB (6'2" and 205). Not sure about his speed but if he's played in the league, he's got to have acceptable quicks...
Played in the Super Bowl for the Hags when they lost to the Pats.
If nothing else could be solid depth... Can't expect a pro bowler off waivers.

This is not a glamour pick up, but I do appreciate Keim not leaving any stones unturned. Richard Sherman wasn't getting released. The fact of the matter is the team has no other choice but to kick the tires on bottom-of-the-barrel players.
If Harlan were worth more than the gum on my shoe, he'd be on the active roster. He never stood out in preseason nor in practices. This was to be expected as the players he faced in college were probably, at best, as good as the dudes who played in the 4th quarter of exhibition games. Perhaps time on the practice squad helps him to develop, but honestly, counting on him to be more than a PS player this season is pie in the sky.

With M Cooper and now Simon, we've added 2 big corners right before we face 2 big receivers in Evans and V Jackson. Could be a scout team strategy...or is it more?

I can't imagine they keep both Simon and Cooper. I bet they cut one of them after seeing them both in practice for a week.

He ran about a 4.5 40. His backpedal was always lacking in fluidity. Some thought he'd make a good safety. He was a bit of a ball hawk and does have good hands. He'd work out better playing in a zone which is what the Cards are trying to avoid. He is a good athlete, but probably not the answer.

He's like a Brandon Williams with 1 more season of NFL experience. Was responsible in coverage for two TDs given up in the SB. Edelman schooled him with a double move on 1. Don't know why seattle cut him, not good enough?

Let's be honest he would be better than the rook just based on some real Nfl game experience! Good pickup not like probowlers are out there to be picked up, could work out never know.

Simon is on our 53 rather than the scout team, other than that, sure.

I think by "scout team" Jeff means that the squad used to act like the team we're playing this week. Not that they are on the practice squad. In other words it is usually your QB3 that runs the scout team's offense.
