They are just way to important to let go. I mean Tennessee prob doesnt drive the field with Dansby in. Dockett is a 1 man wrecking crew. And NO WAY Boldin should ever be on another team. The MAN just plays as hard as possible no matter what. He carried us in the first half. That catch and run for the TD might be 1 of the best plays in the last 10 years I have ever seen from such a basic 15 yard pass. It will be hard but WHiz has proven he can take marginal players and make them good. But the Boldin, DOckett and Dansby all must be paid. And next year we can do it, since it looks like the season will be uncapped.

Oh and the Cardinals proved me completely wrong....well Warner does make a huge difference as we can see.

I agree we need to keep all three of them. Dansby is a leader on and off the field he deserves to be paid. I would hate to see him play for a other team. As for Dockett he is a great player he needs to stay also. The only thing I am affraid is that he will be asking way to much money and the Cardinals will not put it up. One of the big market teams will out bid and he will take the money. As for Boldin he is a great player tough as nails I would love to see him stay but for some strange feeling I think the cards and Boldin will go different ways when his contract is up I hope I am wrong.

Wonder what the odds are of the Bidwill's laying out huge guarantees in an uncapped year... I know the revenue stream is getting there.

We MUST NOT pay DD this offseason. Not only is he under contract for several years, but he is acting like a whiney baby. We MUST pay Boldin...if his price isn't too high. It likely will be, so we probably won't, and he's still under contract for another year. Now, we MUST re-sign Dansby, and even overpay a little if we have to. If he wants to gouge us for far above market value, then as painful as it will be, we'll have to let him walk. Otherwise, let's try to keep him.

Let Dockett play out his contract and then look at it. he wants Haynesworth money, so lets just keep him 2 more yearrs and pray he wants to stay.
I love Dockett though, he's a beast and the leader on that D.

He just posted this on twitter.....

"Dear 49ers just incase yall forgot, Birdgang coming to town 4 MNF-> Dressed in all black like a scary movie!! *Drop Mic* *walk off stage*"

Good teams learn how to navigate the dangerous of expense and talent.

I would love to pay all of them, but I think it depends on how much they want. Dockett is going to want way too much money thanks to the Redskins contract with Fat Albert, but if all else fails we can franchise him twice (in two more years) and let him go. Boldin deserves to be locked up, but I don't want to give Fitz money to a guy that plays 12-14 games a year and could deteriorate very fast considering the way he plays and he is knocking on 30. I think we are going to have to overpay Dansby in order to keep him and I am not a fan of that.

Dockett is caught between a rock and a hard place. He has three years left on his contract. He can be franchise tagged twice after that for a more reasonable amount than Albert money.

He can keep complaining about money and throwing the organization under the bus all he wants, but he should look at his buddy AW and figure out how you negotiate big contracts with the Cards.

Thats not all. We have to decide to renegotiate Rolle and Leinart this off season as well. They both have HUGE escalators in their contracts that neither of them are worth. Im guessing those two and Dansby are the only ones that even have a chance of getting worked out.

No way this team renegotiates and pays Boldin, Dockett, Dansby, Rolle and Leinart all in one off season.

Dansby wants to test the free agent market and will not sign with the Cards. Someone will pay him big bucks. IMO not a chance that he will be with the Cards next season.

I think all three have made it clear that they want to get paid elsewhere (maybe not Dockett so much) and I would be shocked if the Cards throw Albert Haynesworth type coin at him.

In order of (my) preference:

Dockett
Q
Dansby

Since it's a forgone conclusion by many that Q will be traded, then I'd rather they spend the money on Dockett. Teams are built starting the lines (D and O). Dansby is unique in that he's quick and drop back and cover, but not that many other teams would probably use him that way.

I don't think anyone really has a clue what the next offseason is going to be like. There are restrictions on free agency that haven't been there before, but no one has spelled them out. (For example, the top 8 teams are going to be limited in their ability to sign free agents from other teams. But, how? IDK)

So, I'm not penciling in anyone as gone or staying just yet. The Cards have made huge commitments to Dansby the past two years, but did not groom a replacement. Thus, the plan i think is to keep him. Whether they can or not, we'll see.

Yeah, but Dansby is a free agent and Dockett has two more years here, no matter what. So, flip those two on your list, IMO.

I know it takes two to sign a contract but it seems like it should not be that big a deal to keep all three. Could've handled Dansby last year, Boldin next year, and Dockett the following year. That's not how Graves works though. He usually hesitates to act until there is some deadline to force the issue. I know Rolle and ML have deals coming up but those are lesser deals that shouldn't be that hard to re-do.Those are the type Graves seems better at handling. But we'll see.

They should be negotiating Q's contract with Tom Conlin right now. Dansby has to wait till the end of the season. Dockett can wait until the following offseason.

Dont get me wrong I want Dansby to stay as well but what makes you say the above comment. 49ers drove the field at the end of a game with Dansby in. Houston drove the field to the 1 inch line to end the game with Dansby in. Not so sure Dansby would have made any difference on that drive either.

We tried hard to do Dansby last year. Offered him the going rate for other linebackers at his postion who recieved contracts recently, contracts in league with Bart Scott and Tatupu. 20 mill in gauranteed and same per year average totals. Dansby still said no. Dansby is looking for and thinks he can get pass rusher or Ray Lewis money, of which he will see the sad reality of that thought when he tries to get it in 2010. His old agent was telling him exactly that and its one of the reasons why Los switched agents right in the middle of heavy, heavy, negotiations.

By that I mean let Dansby walk, but get Dockett resigned. Q will be traded anyway.

Yup.

Everyone wants to talk about a precendence we have set around renegotiation but no one has said a damn thing about that. Its implied I guess but not really.

My feeling is at a certain point you have to reward players and show others you are willing to do whats right in Pro Bowl type circumstances. I don't think Dockett is helping his case by making such a to do about money but I def think he has earned a new contract.

Personally I would trade Q, Let Dansby cash in somewhere else, and reup Dockett at less then Haynesworth money becasue we are renegotiating earlier.

I personally don't think Q goes anywhere.I think he plays out his contract here and we will be very glad we did'nt pay him the 9 million a year he's asking and also that we won't trade him for a low pick in the draft either. He's too valuable if Warner plays his last year with us,as we will know this before any trade for draft picks is made.

Dockett also will have to wait since he has 3 yeas left on his contract.Thats two down and Dansby will definately fly unless we have one last chance to franchise him which I don't think we do for some reason.Normally you can franchise 3 times but I think he had a special clause that it could only be twice.

The Rolle situation needs to be redone and same with Matt Leinart who better not be greedy as he is owed a lot of esculator money and might not even be starting again next season.

So for those of you who are'nt aware,we NEED a major Offensive Left Tackle for next season and we will be losing Mike Gandy.Thats gonna cost bigtime in the NFL.They don't grow on trees and the best ones are very expensive.

I'd say Graves will be busy from sun up to sun down with all of this to take care of.Then throw in the draft picks later for him.

With ya!!! The way Rod Graves moves we will be lucky to get 1 done this offseason. Thats his history & until I see that changed I wont believe it.

You are very correct. I don't see Dockett at the front of the renegotiation line. I see Dansby and Rolle in the front, Boldin behind them and then Dockett.
