The more I think who we should draft, the more I think a number of players would be fine at 20 and that means there are a number of players in a deep draft which reflect about the same in talent after the first 10 picks. People say we need to draft a safety. People say we need to find Dockett's eventual heir. People say we need a LB to help with Washington's ongoing suspension problems. Well, one of our best safeties was Adrian Wilson, round 3. Dockett was selected in round 3. Washington in round 2. I say hopefully one of the players coveted by a team reaches 20 and the team comes a calling and we get the hell out and get more picks :)

I agree but it all depends on who slides to #20, if say Bridgewater is there then a QB hungry team that didn't take him earlier might want to trade back in to Round 1 to nab him then sure trade down if your ARZ. Other than that I don't see a player available that teams would want to move up and get.

Trading down might be a best case scenario for this team, this year.

It's finding someone who really wants to move up and willing to overcompensate just a little.

The Cardinals might be that QB starved team looking into the future.

Carolina might a candidate to move up for one of the wide receivers. I'd do it for a 3rd and a 5th or 6th.

Because trading down worked so well when the Cards passed on Terrell Suggs and got Bryant Johnson and Calvin Pace.

And drafting Leinart in Rd1 worked so well so we should never draft another QB in Rd1 or from USC or one named Matt or.........

Different front office and SK has proven he can get some serious talent in the mid and late rd picks range.

Trade down early and often and I'm not worried about getting "true" value in the trade offer, just make it reasonable.

Having said that because it is such a deep draft I'm not sure which teams will want to give up picks. Maybe the 49ers because then have like 12 picks and all of them won't make their very strong roster. Any other teams?

I'd make a list of every time the Cardinals stayed put in the 1st round and it didn't work out for them, but I don't want to be sitting here for 6 hours typing.

Deeper draft, perhaps, but one is still moving down to players with lower grades.

Chances are we are picking at #20 and hopefully we have a key contributor under control for 5 years.

Ho hum, every year we get posts that the Cards should trade down in the first round to get more picks. The reality is that's what most teams (and their fans) want to do. Sorry, but I just don't see a "gotta have" player at #20 for some team to give away some solid picks. IMO there is not that much separation in the qb class with the top 7 to make a team move up. Is Bridgewater really any better than Geno Smith who went in the 2nd round last year or Matt Barkley who went in the 3rd.

The hope for trade down candidates is that there's a run on QBs and OTs early in the draft, and teams are going to want to move up from the last 12 picks to get one.

If Robinson, Lewan, Matthews, and Martin all go in the Top 20, you're going to have someone wanting to move up for Morgan Moses.

If Bortles, Manziel, and Bridgewater go in the Top 15 or 18, someone might want to move up to a motivated seller to get Carr.

Those are the positions where there's a clear plateau in quality within the first round or prospects.

There is speculation out there, that the Cards could offer a 4th of 5th for Glennon. The Keim, Licht connection.

I have not seen any of that speculation other than the version I have been tossing around for a couple weeks........ it would be a steal if we could get Tampa to give up Glennon for our fifth
