Im really painted on smile happy to get a young talented cb with 3 years experience. I mean don’t need to pull fly poop out of the pepper. I have alot of faith in Wilson, that boy started as a rookie last year, raised expectations then fell back to earth. Because my point wasn't that Murphy never faced good guys in the slot, it was that he MOSTLY didn't. But when he did, he got his ass whooped.

Some in this fanbase are living in a fever dream where Murphy is good. He isn't. He's not even average. He's nowhere, not even a whiff on the breeze, in anybodies top slot rankings. He's never made a top 10 and most of that top 10 are UDFA's and low round picks, not the #33 overall pick.

Steve Keim been selling "Murphy is a star" and some fans are buying it.

K9 is right, he'd get more than Mullen, but that's only because Keim fleeced the Raiders. With one year left on his deal we would scrape a 6th for Murphy.

One of us it trying to sell Murphy's far worse stats are "more impressive" because he SOMETIMES faced better receivers in the slot but mostly faced 3's. Whereas Mullen always faced 1's and 2's.

I don't think we will be signing any other cornerbacks until after week one, when we sign Alford in all likelihood. The probability of getting a player with our 23rd waiver claim position is slim to none. With Alford's injury history it makes sense to wait until after week one to sign him, so his salary isn't guaranteed for the season.

OK Chris, this is absolutely strange being 54 years of age. How far have we gone down as a wimpy society where calling somebody a 'clown' is a means for a ban when on top of that we are on a sports site where for many many many years past the language was a lot more edgy than that but that is what is expected at the local sports pub which in reality this is a virtual setting of. Yeah, it's personal I guess but that is what makes us human and not some cold computer bot
