I'd be interested in hearing how many Vikings fans were at this game. There were some shots where they significantly outnumbered the Cards fans in the stands, and there was a dull roar when the offense was on the field. That said, I think we should all be happy that this was a victory.

Bonus observation: Rodney Gunter played fewer snaps than Red Bryant, Josh Mauro, or Ed Stinson.

I agree with everything but Massie. I wouldn't put him on the goats list this week, but he gave up an ugly sack that once again drove us out of FG range.

Btw, that's a great pic for the top of the article

The only things that'll miss Massie are the local bars.

How awesome was it that when Floyd scored the TD... Everyone was chanting Larry, Larry, Larry... for the awesome block he had on that play. I think for that play alone Larry deserves Hero recognition

If you could lip read, there was a run by Kerwynn where where he didn't cut to the hole... lost yardage and Arians yelled wtf are you doing!!! As good as he looked last Sunday, this game was the polar opposite.

I wouldn't call Massie a hero. He got completely blown up on a sack that took us out of FG range. I give a load of credit to George Edwards. He was short handed with key players being injured so he decided to play his defensive backs off the line to insure we didn't beat them deep and it worked like a charm. Palmer only threw 3 or 4 times deep and none were caught. Brown had beaten his CB badly on one but the safety was able to come across and break up what would probably have been a TD. This is how you coach. Bettcher makes no such adjustments. He sticks to one game plan even if it's failing.

Floyd is proving more and more than he is an invaluable asset to this team.

he's showing A LOT of flashes this season of major big play ability. Floyd, Brown, Nelson for the future gives me a good feeling as Larry's career winds down.

But that Larry block was insanely awesome.

Hey everyone including me luv BA, but last night he deserved to be on the list. He had a chance to probably ice the Vikes hopes with a TD.

Instead...

First & goal at the 2 yard line (should've been the 1), the HC pulled out the horse (whom was having a great game) & inserted Kerwyn & quickly lost yards causing a pass play that led to a sack & ultimately lead to a FG.

BA mismanaged that drive much like Mike Martz did years ago. Maybe the league finally allowing him to wear his Kangol on the sidelines hindered his thinking lol :D

Hard to find goats this week. So many guys had amazing nights, statistically, but it didn't add up to a solid team performance. It was just odd.

Hero: Iupati. If he doesn't catch that pass, maybe it is intercepted. Maybe we don't get in field goal range. That was a key play in the game.

Goats: Special Teams coverage. Can we please kick the ball out of the endzone on kickoffs and tackle guys returning kicks before the 35 please?

As there contracts expire at the same time, it should be a nice changing of the guard.

He lost 8 yards. Then on replay Simms was explaining there wasn't anything there then saw the gaping hole inside and said "he should have stayed inside, can't lose yards there with the FG range." It was his polite way of saying Williams should have cut in and near blew the whole drive by going outside.

That block was disgusting. Larry is a straight up beast.

That almost made me stroke out. Of all the things you could do in that situation. Worst case scenario is to lose yardage like that. He could have just fallen down and lost 2 yards. Instead he runs backwards and loses 8.

That and the playcalling in the red zone on our first drive were just inexplicable. Almost like we were trying to find ways to blow it.

It was a massive hole. In fact I think Kerwyn scores if he follows his blocking

Good list, spot on.

I thought some of Arians playcalls were suspect last night as well but forsure agree on Betcher, he's got to pull some new tricks out of his bag.

Just like in Denver in Week 4, the road-dog Vikings erased a 20-10 deficit in the fourth quarter, allowed the go-ahead field goal, and then watched Bridgewater lose the ball on a strip-sack in the final 30 seconds of a 23-20 defeat.

Both games really paint the same picture of where the Vikings are this season: good enough to hang with some of the best teams in the league, but not great enough to win these games yet. Arizona is a great team that won without playing its best football.

Deja vu for the Vikings with it even being the same final score 23-20, even to being down 20-10 in the 4th quarter. That must have brought them some bad flashbacks.
