The Kobayashi of Kool-Aid
Offense:
1. On the OLine, Mathis was inactive for this game, Watford took all 82 of his snaps.
2. There should be no doubt that this is now David Johnson's team. He was on the field for 79 of 82 offensive plays. CJ and Andre combined for only 4 plays. I am stunned at CJ's lack of playtime.
3. For the TE group, Darren Fells was on the field for 60% of the offense again this week. Given that Niklas and Gresham only saw 20% of the plays, it appears we didn't go with 2 TE's much this week. I don't know when it happened, but I understand Niklas injured his wrist yesterday and it may be severe. Given no other TE's on the roster, and I'm betting we sign someone this week.
4. Larry only came off the field for 2 plays. Floyd was next most active WR, seeing 90% of offensive plays. The two Browns were in for 50 and 60% with Jaron seeing increased playing time at the expense of the TE's. JJ was only on the field for a single offensive play.
Defense:
1. Starting in the backfield, both PP and Jefferson played all 64 plays on Defense. And in case you didn't realize already, Cooper is the starter opposite PP. He was only missed one play, which I think was because he had to come off after getting shaken up on one play.
2. Williams saw his playtime continue to plummet... to the tune of him not being on the field with the Defense against the Bills. 0 plays. for those keeping score, 72 plays in game 1, 27 in game 2, and 0 in game 3. Barring injury, I don't think we see him again until after Thanksgiving, when BA tends to start introducing rookies into the lineup.
3. Honey Badger continues to play at his season average, about 80% of the time, while Swearinger and Branch both saw reduced play time this week.
4. Moving on to the LB's, Buchannon continues to take every snap, while both Chandler Jones and Minter were on the field for 95% of downs. Markus Golden had his busiest day of the season, being in for 73%.
5. I saw someone complaining about Oakafor being out of position, but he was only on the field for 3 plays, not that he's seen much play-time this season, only participating in 24 plays for the season thus far.
6. Good thing our DL is the deepest room on the roster, because 4 of them were inactive yesterday. Calais continues to be our workhorse DL, taking almost twice the number of snaps as anyone else on the line this season, 94 % against the Bills. I'm guessing the coaching staff has the most faith in him against the run... not that it was helping.
7. Stinson and Cory Peters both doubled their snaps from what they've previously averaged at about 60%, and Mauro played about 35%, which about what he has averaged every game this season.
8. Did Gunter get hurt? He was only on the field for 11% of plays, his lowest contribution in quite some time, going back to last season.
That's about it from jumps out at me.
