There's another person on this forum from UK. I believe his name is Wembley88 or something like that.

Are you a Magpies fan? I am. When I started liking soccer (football) and started getting into the EPL, I needed a team. Can't go for Manchester-they're the Yankees of the EPL. Well, since my home town is New Castle, Pennsylvania, I decided to go with that.

When I first started rooting for them, they pretty much stunk, but they've really put together a good team. Slow start this season, and it's ******** that they're out of the Champs league already, but Shearer has the boys in line in the league now. Only a few points out of Champs League spots, too.

P.S. Did I use ******** correctly in that sentence? Lol

Think of a sandwich on a 6" french bread. They are also called subs probably due to the tubular shape.

But if your buying I'd rather have a pint of Theaktson's Old Peculier.

There are more than one British types here, even if some of us have croosed over, so to speak :)

Shakespeare, groovy! I'm currently studying for my MFA in Shakespearean and Elizabethan Theater.

Me thinks ya need some courage to be a Cards fan Krang......I've been one for 40+ years.....with all the negative crap the last few weeks this win over the Niners was actually one I think COULD be a turning point.....if we hit and block and run like we did Sunday we'll be hard to beat.....we're at home....let's be pi$$ed and agile.....mobile....and especially HOSTILE.

Oh, I think you misunderstood me or maybe I'm just crazy (and not to exclude the middle ground, maybe both :D )

I meant that I'm a fan of John Courage.

But we all need Courage being Cards fans that's for certain. Heck, living in Phoenix, most people here make you feel like a ******* for pulling for the home team.

It really sucks.

Krang

When we start winning all the "yeah I've always been a Cards fan" people will come out of the woodwork like the **** roaches that they are.....until then it will be guys like you who will have to raise the banner and take the flak from the fickle fans who want victories and nothing but victories by God.

Now I can understand their consternation....but I can't understand their lack of faith.....sure it's the Bidwills....but quit being whinny a$$ wussys....get tough.......root for youyr team win or lose....tough call I know for the transplanted arseholes.

going back to Newcastle United - no i dont support them - they are in fact my most hated team - i support Sunderland (about 6 miles from newcastle) good to know you lot watch a bit of football (round) also - by the way Newcastle are losing 0-1 at the moment in the cup to WBA

just as an extra note and a painful one for me, my office in the centre of Newcastle city centre actually looks right into the top tier of Newcastle's stadium (St James Park)

If you want to support a real footie team you should log onto www.SAFC.com for Sunderland AFC (they play in red and white, which the reason i chose the cards all those years ago)

AZ Cardinals - Sunderland AFC - Beer 'The Holy Trinity'

That's right, Sunderland and Newcastle always play those 'derby' matches. Wouldn't that be like the New York Yankees playing the New York Mets, or something?

Well, that kind of stinks...went down to West Brom, but oh well...it's only the Carling Cup. On a side note, Sunderland's doing very well indeed...in the First Division. ;) Just had to give you a little jab. Chalk it up to being jealous over your office view.
