I guess he and Owings will platoon at 2B and Hill will strictly back up Lamb at 3B. Too bad ARZ won't be able to unload Hill's contract without kicking in most of next year's salary and I hope management doesn't consider dumping a prospect in order to accommodate a deal.

I hope they don't pull a Touki and use a prospect to get rid of his contract. He's overpaid but he still is a decent back up and could spot start at 2B or 3B

Owings has been playing shortstop over the past few games... We could very well see CO at short and Drury at second... particularly since Owings has been hitting well as of late...

Then what becomes of Ahmed? I think Ahmed is more of a true SS than Owings particularly from a defensive stand point. Maybe they plan to showcase Owings as a SS to increase his trade value?

I could be wrong, but didn't Owings play SS in college and in the minors?

Correct, he did in HS & minors (did not go to college) but they moved him to 2B this year so that Ahmed could play SS.

I don't know I'm new to the fan club. They keep saying he split between 3rd and 2nd this year. 0-2 so far.
