Snyder & Colledge should both be cut. Draft Warmack at LG and put Kelemete at RG. Keep Levi for depth in case one of our Tackles go does or struggles. Who knows if there's a new coaching staff they might experiment with Levi inside finally...

He'll have the 7th highest cap hit among guards next year.

Last year's free agent class was an utter disaster outside of one year of Richard Marshall.

I like Snyder as depth if not as our starting center (NOT guard). If you look at the bonuses on colledges contract I don't think cutting him will save us anything since those would be accelerated to the 2013 cap

I've found quite a few inconsistencies on that site with other contract numbers, so I'd take it with a grain of salt

Man I hope it's wrong, that's ridiculous
after a little more digging, that looks right. It's higher now because he restructured this year to clear cap space so it put off some of his salary over the next 3. Still a huge paycheck. He's in the Kolb category for me. I like him, but not $7.275M like. Our team seems to be consistent in overpaying guys from other teams, while often not paying enough to hang on to our guys (but that seems to be changing recently)

Our ability to identify offensive line talent is pretty poor. The strange thing is that both Snyder and Colledge graded out very, very poorly prior to us signing them to large contracts. Each of them were seen as the weakest link on the line of their prior teams. Snyder specifically graded out as the worst guard in the NFL last year I believe. PFF also recently named him the least valuable guard per investment in the NFL.

They said the following:

"It’s gotten to the point where I almost have to apologize when writing about Synder. I mean it feels like I’m repeating myself but what else am I meant to do? It may not seem a lot to invest $2m in a right guard, and it’s not. But when your right guard is so bad he hurts the team with his ability to guide pressure to the quarterback it needs mentioning. Can’t blame Snyder here, the tape was there to show what kind of player he was. Inexcusable decision in signing him."

It's incredibly frustrating.

For what it's worth, PFF has Colledge rated as the 12th best pass blocking guard out of the 51 who qualify.

Any idea how I would affect the cap if we cut him? Would there be any savings?

I asked Urban and Somers this question a week or so ago and they said we would actually take a cap hit if we cut either of them.

I'm sure there are some inconsistencies on that site, but the Colledge numbers look correct. Unfortunately.

With Alan Faneca retiring, the Cardinals need a left guard, and Colledge should be a good fit. He will sign a five-year contract worth $27.5 million, with about $10 million guaranteed.

Guard Daryn Colledge restructured his deal with the team to clear up $2.325 million in cap space for the 2012 season by converting a chunk of his base salary into a signing bonus. Colledge’s cap number drops from $5.5 million to $3.175 million in 2012 and rises from $6.5 million to $7.275 million in the three remaining years of his deal.
