I have not lost my love for hockey. I am excited about this season. I grew up a Blackhawks fans, but due to living in Phoenix since before the Coyotes came to town and Chicago having one of the worst owners in all of professional sports I have become a dedicated Coyotes fan and I am looking forward to the season more than any in a long time.

Curious on how others feel now that this is season 2 since the lockout.

I love it. Alway been my #2 sport behind football and I have tickets to 22 Coyotes games this season.

I got into hockey when I was 15 when the Oilers stopped the Islanders "Drive for Five". There was something about that Gretzky kid . . .

I was one of the biggest Coyote fans in the world, followed the NHL in the 80's and 90's during the scoring years not really having a favorite team until the Coyotes moved here

Then they traded Teemu Selanne then Keith Tkachuk, then Roenick, then Amonte. Then with the lock out, it just sucked.... It really burned when Tkachuk was a prick about his contract and he left town. I can't like Doan, partly because he is a pretty boy and partly because of that really desperate chick who used to hang around these boards who was all up on him. That's another story

I finally just gave up, stopped watching, stopped caring, stopped buying the games, etc.... I'll watch but I feel no more passion

i still really enjoy it and it's my favorite sport to watch in person - i'm a sharks fan and catch them every time they come to town - often go to other coyotes games because it's a pretty good sporting value as well

need to check out the roadrunners this year

They traded Selanne before they ever stepped foot on the ice in AWA, before you were the biggest Coyote fan in the world. But the rest I can see your point. Some of the identity was lost over the years.

I love hockey! Was a huge Flyers fan in the late 80s. We were so poor in high school that me and my friends would buy limited view (meaning only being able to see half-ice) tickets to the Spectrum.

I've seen the Thrashers play in Atlanta, the Devils in Jersey and the Flyers in Philly. Am actually going to the Meadowlands next week for a preseason game between the Devils and Flyers. Should be a blast!

I'm still a die-hard Flyers fan even though I know they'll never go anywhere until Bob Clark gets the boot; but, I plan on adopting the Coyotes as my second favorite hockey team once I move to Tempe. :)

I try to get into it, but the NHL doesnt make it easy. I enjoyed the Coyotes back in the white out/making the playoff days. Beeing born and raised in Phoenix, my two favorite teams will always be the Suns and ASU football, but I certainly root for the Coyotes.

I recently began thinking that the NHL should switch their season to be played in the summer. In this way, they would avoid competiting with football (the biggest sport in the country), basketball, and playoff baseball. Obviously, it would be a bit weird since hockey is a "winter" sport, but I think it would increase its visibility, because a lot of fans get bored in the middle of the never ending baseball season.

Growing up back east I played hockey so I have been a fan since I was a little kid. I am a New Jersey Devils fan but I do pull for the Coyotes, as long as they are not playing the Devils.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to having him on the home ice and they trade him for Oleg 'the wuss' Tverdovsky

Grew up in New York so I'm a long time Rangers fan. I used to go to the Binghamton Rangers games when I lived there.

I think I still have a Tie Domi card from his AHL days with the Rangers, I should go look for it.

Honestly? I don't know. I really find very little enjoyment in watching hockey on television, but I love seeing it in person (pro and college), but I haven't been to a game in ages.
