Isabel Anaya has been a trailblazer in girls wrestling in the Holland area as well as the state of Michigan.
The West Ottawa senior is the first 100-win female wrestler from the area, the first state champion and the first to have an undefeated season.
She isn't finished, either.
Anaya will be the first female wrestler from the area to continue her career in college. She recently committed to wrestler at Manchester University in Indiana.

"It is an honor to be the first," Anaya said. "It truly means a lot to me because I know in the future, I won't be the only female wrestler going to college and wrestling. I hope that this shows other girls that they can continue to wrestle after high school if they put in the work."
So why Manchester?
"I chose to go to Manchester because I really enjoyed what I saw on the college visit and the coaching staff," Anaya said. "They always kept in touch with me and asked me about how I was doing with wrestling and school. I also appreciated how they would give me calls before big tournaments like regionals and states. They would ask how I'm feeling about the tournament and wish me good luck."
Anaya finished 26-0 as a senior, including an 8-2 decision in the heavyweight state finals at Ford Field in Detroit.
