What a game.

It was 47-27 with 15 minutes left. UCLA was getting destroyed.

Now it's 56-52 (West Va leading) with just under 5 minutes left.

West Virginia wins 60-56. Nice comeback attempt by UCLA.

West Virginia is a tough team. It'll be interesting to watch them in the tourney.

Yet another example of why Ben Howland is the greatest thing for UCLA since Wooden retired. 4 years ago UCLA loses by 30 in the same game with the same team under lavin, but Howland won't let this team quit.

if Afflalo or Roll could have made anything in the game UCLA might win. Gansey was terrific, shut down Afflalo, made steals, hit big shots, I realize JJ Redick is a great player and he was again today but it'd be nice to see a kid like Gansey get a little more recognition, that kid can play basketball.

I almost feel guilty in saying right now Ryan Hollins is UCLA's best center, Aboya and Wright just could not deal with the back cuts from West Va. That was the key to UCLA's comeback, hollins came in, they stopped getting easy layups, and then UCLA hit a few shots. Big 2nd half by Farmar.

I was a little worried in the second half but I new my 'eers would pull it out. Usually WVU gets behind by 10-12 before rallying to win in the final 3 minutes...Kinda change of M.O. for them.

Gansey is amazing and is a hellf of a player. If you havent seen wvu before this let me tell you this was no fluke, he plays like this every game. Hits big 3's, makes steals, good defensively.

Sad part was if you havent watched WVU before then you probably came away thinking Pitsnoggle wasnt much. He just wasnt on yesterday. He is a beast and gives them a physicality they otherwise would have had. I noticed he played in the low post a lot but generally he brings his guy to the top of the key. I think both of these guys have a chnace to play at the next level.

WVU will lose a few more games just b/c they play such a brutal Big East schedule, but with wins over Villanova (3 at the time), Oklahoma(7 at the time), Tennesee(just upset FL), Georgetown(just upset Duke) and UCLA, they should be primed come Tournament time. I would love them to be able to get a 2, 3, or 4 seed and see what they can do!

!

I saw them 2-3 times last year in the tourney and loved Gansey and pittsnoggle. His wife is due any time now, no surprise he wasn't very good Saturday, probably distracted.

They're a very good team, it's interesting if you read UCLA boards very little man we beat ourselves, or man the refs robbed us, almost everyone conceded WVU is just the better team right now. When you're starting 3 freshman and 2 sophs, you're going to have games where a more experienced team picks you apart.

I like Gansey, after Farmar hit him in the nuts while blocking him out on the first freethrow, he came back on the 2nd one and gave Farmar a little forearm shiver to the kidney. Nothing dangerous or even dirty, just a little don't mess with me kid. Farmar had a funny look on his face and threw up his hands like he couldn't believe nothing was called, but he'd just hit the guy in the nuts, he had no leg to stand on to complain.

Good luck the rest of the season, I love to watch teams like WVU, they really play together.

Without looking at the numbers, Mike Gansey is no J.J. Redick.

Sincerely,

ESPN

*Gansey is probably the most underrated player in college basketball.
