Westworld is Moving Forward

Shelved when Arnold Schwarzenegger was elected governor of California, Warner Bros.-based producer Jerry Weintraub's remake of Westworld is now a go, with The Cell director Tarsem set to direct.
Variety says Schwarzenegger's reps insist he's not involved with the project at this point. But it's certainly not a given that he won't be in Westworld should he decide not to seek re-election in next year's election or should he lose the race. His current terms ends in January 2007.
Schwarzenegger was not, however, set to play the Yul Brynner role of the robotic gunfighter who turns an Old West vacation theme park into a nightmare, but one of the park guests.
The trade adds that there is no screenplay or writer yet attached to the remake.
