What a long strange trip its been

We have had so many months of uncertainty and ups and downs and things to think about, to worry about, or get excited about.

Started with the Marbury trade. The picks we got, Lampe, McDyess, Vujanic and last but not least, Eisley.

JJ plays very well.

We knew we needed more money to make a big splash (Kobe). So, how would we get the extra space? Jahidi, Eisley, draft pick(s) to Charlotte?

Googs trade (and that's all I can say about that)

McDyess looking hurt, then looking better. Can we keep him, does he owe us?

Lottery comes. Are we gonna get lucky. No we don't

Jahidi trade, lose the pick from Cleveland for cap room.

Draft .. Marty? Iggy? Trade up, trade down? Then we do trade down. Miss out on some good players.

Vujanic, and what is up with him?

McGrady. JJ or Marion or both ? Orlando makes agreement, then backs off.

Gambo says Kobe and McGrady want to play together on Suns.

Q. Offer sheet, we have to wait for weeks to find out. In meantime, Divac and Tag express interest, but they go elsewhere.

I wanted Kobe, but after doing some research on his numbers I have changed my mind. (not to mention it would be very hard to cheer for him on the Suns) I think he is overrated. I would much rather have Nash and Q. I think the Suns had a great offseason. Can't wait until November.

I'm not sure Kobe is overrated, but I do think that Nash and Q combined are worth more than Kobe at the same price.

I never wanted Kobe, I think that he is a selfish arrogant player. Last year in the finals epitomized this. There was a reason that Larry Brown decided to single cover Shaq and run the entire team at Kobe when he touched the ball. Shaq passed well out of the double teams and picked Detroits Defense apart but Kobe forced up every bad shot in the book. I never saw him make a pass out of a double team, whenever he passed the ball it was to a guard on the outside and then he immediately started calling for the ball again. A lot of posters on this board seemed to think that Kobe himself would be enough to put any team at a championship level. My prediction is that the current Lakers will have a hard time making the playoffs.
