Does anyone know that status of Rod Graves' contract? It seemed like last year Denny was always talking about what he and Rod where going to do in the off-season regarding free agency, etc. In his press conference today, I noticed he didn't mention Rod Graves once.

Yep, I noticed that too. I would say that since Minnesota signed their VP of Football operations to a new deal, Graves is probably a bit more secure. I was a bit suspicious with him leaving that Green would bring him in, Brzezinski is the name. But the Vikings kept him.

He did mention Rod Graves. During the Q&A session, he said something about talking to Rod every day during Free Agency.

With respect, Russ...

Unless there's a press release indicating changes in the Card heirarchy, Denny is not in a position to hire the head of football ops.

GRaves did a good job taking care of Greens needs. There will be no change there IMO until Green leaves.

I have read he may work without a contract. His contract will be up. Since he is not a real GM whether he comes or goes does not seem to have much effect on the field. He is a ghost in my opinion.

From what I read he is close with Bill Bidwill and I also understand Bill Bidwill is somewhat loyal to his friends. He may not have a contract but I do not see him going anywhere. He has never really functioned as a real GM and would be hard pressed to find such a job even if he wanted to leave. Stay or go as I do not see it matters at all.

This is not unusual for the Cards. Graves has worked without a contract before. And, it seemed like Bob Ferguson worked without a contract about half the time he was here.
