is by taking Matt Leinhart in this year's mock draft. I have thoroughly researched this situation and have become alarmed by the statistical.

It seems as if only 5 quarteback player positions have won a Supper Bowl while being with the team that drafted them in the first round. Ever since the merger of the NFL and AFL.

That statistical evidence indicates we should have taken a lineman perhaps. Odds are opposed to the team.

There's statistics against anything.

I think many people are just looking for Matt to come in here and give us solid passing for years to come and we'll take our chances.

So if your telling me if Leinart fell to the bottom of the first round you wouldn't take him (If you had a low 1st round pick) because no QB has led their team to a SB?

Doesn't make sense to me. I like our chances with Leinart leading the way.

So I guess that means we shouldn't let Leinart get away. There are lots of SB victories by 1st rd. QBs...you're putting a qualifier on it that doesn't really mean much, IMO.

I get different stats:

I get seven QB's taken in the first round by their teams that won the SB:
Aikman (3), Elway (2), Sims (2*), McMahon (1), Roethlisberger (1), Bradshaw (4)

For what its worth -- if you add QB's just taken in the first round you also get: Steve Young (1), Trent Dilfer (1) and Jim Plunkett (1)

Finally - lets look at all SB's -- add Len Dawson (1) and Joe Namath

and you get: 18 SBs won by 1st round QBs out of 40 chances, or 45%

I think that % is pretty high

You are correct; thank god this isn't the National Food League though and its the NFL where Leinart will help us. Even though he's what 6'5", he doesn't look like a big eater. Those skinny Japanese guys are much better at food grubbing and would definitely help us win the "Supper Bowl". However, I didn't see one projected of going in the first round.

I saw him listed at 6'3''. What gives? Looks like 6'5'' to me.

I'm sold, lets trade him away. Obviously Winston Justice was much better value there.

So our plan needs to be to trade him for a 6th round QB? Or doe that just increase the likelihood that he'll lead his next team to the SB victory?

Three types of lies:
lies
damn lies
statistics

Um. I'll take our chances with Leinart

Are you serious??

Do you honestly believe that this team would be better of by not having Leinart on the roster?

And what does that have to do with the Cardinals ? That Leinart will be the 6th ?

What is the number for that statistic with RB ? With WR?

Looking at past statistics...

the Cardinals are not favored, anyway.

This is a case were two negative statistical facts create a positive statistical environment for fundamental change. Ultimately, it was that last chilli-cheese-dog that Denny ate that tipped the statistical Superbowl ballance Arizona's way.

Thank you for you time.

It is strictly a statistical analysis. One used by insurance companies to divulge policy.

Steve Young was not first round, but supplemental!

len Dawson and Namath before merger. My analysis said since merger. Joe Namath was drafted in NFL by Cardinals too!

The statistics show that because about 10 times more QBs are drafted after the first round than in the first. Numbers are easy to twist. This stat means squat.
